Superior Modding Practices

Skinner and his mod squad - headed by The MEREgistrate - are welcome to come join TPPG, and learn how superior modding is done. SheWhoShouldBeMuzzled is even welcome, as long as she learns to talk like an adult human, instead of a poo-flinging ape.

Say Something Nice about Skinner...

... The Official Thread!

Come play at The Progressives Playground (or TPPG, for short) and help us build out the site more this week.

Drop by and say hello...

... at DemocraticPlayground.com. Or ProgressivesPlayground.com.

P.S. It was only a matter of time, Skinner. You can't keep treating people that way and not expect real competition in the free marketplace of ideas. We aim to apply the lessons that other sites' Admins should have learned these past many years, and provide a superior user experience - by applying superior modding practices that actually align with human interpersonal dynamics (with a healthy dose of common sense). Oh, yeah! We plan to have fun doing it, too! More about the site's philosophy and mission will be forthcoming this week. For now, drop by and say hello as we wait for Obama to clinch the Presidency.

What's being a "lezzie" got to do with it, Big Sky Brad?

The picture above is from Big Sky Brad's online photo collection.

In the former du mod threads at DemocraticWarrior, Big Sky Brad showed that he really has a problem with women who don't find him man enough to convert them from their women-luvin' ways.

I've noticed that the very militant lezzies at DU can post whatever they want to on that forum and get away with it, while simply asking them a question will get one's post deleted.

Sapprocrat has to be the most viral lezzie on that forum. Unless Maddy McCall is a lezzie, and in that case, it's a tie. [Admin Edit.] is another lesbian that has been totally out of control over there lately.

For a long time I thought Bluebear was a lezzie because he was getting away with saying almost anything to anyone as well.

I don't think DU should have adopted a pro-gay stance when they first fired up that forum and then let people like those mentioned above represent gays that way.

Most gay people that I have met in real life would never say the mean or vile things those asshats have said on that forum to other people. They've hurt their own cause by being so vitriolic.

That was when I realized that it seemed like they were doing it on purpose - to make gays look bad.

Some newer gay DU members are ones that have joined the forum in just the last 3 years, and they appear to me to be doing just that, making gays look bad - by design. That's why I think a lot of those people who say they are gay at DU are fake gays. Especially the mean ones, the ones that say really awful things to other people on that forum.

He also tried to engage me - as a gay man - on this issue, via PMs. He sent me a PM, entitled, "I have a few questions for you."

Title : Re: I have a few questions for you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Are you posting at PI?
Yup, that's me.
Are you tired yet of having your posts edited here?
I see a lot of editing by Big Jerr in your posts.
No. In each instance, I understand the reason why there was an Admin Edit. Having come from DU (where no real guidance or set of norms is provided or established), I actually prefer to have clear, bright lines.

Free speech is curtailed the moment I walk into someone's home. It is a privilege to be in someone's home. I consider DW to be BigJerr's virtual home. He's kindly laid out snacks and beverages in his front parlour, and provided a warm, comfortable, sunshine-filled space for us to gnosh and jawbone.

But you gotta respect the other guests and the host.

I know you're a true patriot, a true progressive, and a true proponent of veterans' rights. I hope you saw what I wrote to you the other day in response to the 4000 thread. That VA CARES deal set me off something fierce, let me tell you (oh, the stories I could tell you about what I did when I found out, too). At DU, I commented repeatedly about how too many Dems ignore military families and veterans. Do a Google on corpgovactivist and the term "military families" or corpgovactivist and veterans. You'll see.

My advice? Let's you and I make the point - rationally, politely, pointedly, and progressively - that military families and veterans should be courted this election cycle. But let's do so without personalizing it to the DU Admins, mods, etc.
Is radfringe really a liberal?
Abso-positive-ly.
Considering her use of the term "nigger" in her post a few days ago, it sounds to me like she is not as big of a liberal as she professes to be.
Actually, her use intentionally mirrored yours. She said militant nigger to make the point, I think, that adding the word militant to either lezzies or niggers does nothing to take the hurt and sting out of that word for other African Americans, or lesbians, respectively.

Try saying jackass jarheads to a group of Marines, and see if you get the chance to explain yourself: i.e., that you were only talking about some Marines.

That term is clearly defined as hate speech.
So is lezzies. Adding the adjective militant in front of the term doesn't rob the noun it of its sting.
I wasn't even talking about her when I made my post about the militant lezzies at DU. I thought we had already gone over that ground before with her.
She probably thinks she's already covered this ground with you.

; )
By the way, I never read anything Madspirit ever said here or at DU. Never even heard of her before. So, her fake outrage of me using the term "lezzie" is, well, fake.
While her sudden appearance is interesting and eyebrow-raising, given the thread to which she responded, if she is a lesbian, her outrage is probably heartfelt. I'll agree with you that her sudden appearance is suspect, but if she is a lesbian, she's prolly gonna feel some solidarity there.
Is Maddy McCall, the one at DU, a lesbian? Do you know?
I very strongly suspect so. She is definitely a militant member of the LGBT orthodoxy crew over there.

(That term seems to pass muster.)

; )

- Dave

I respect Big Sky Brad's service to our country.

But he took an oath to uphold and defend the Constitution: even for American "lezzies," and "lesbos," unless he can show me that he got to swear to a different version of the Marine Corps oath.

- Dave

P.S. I may not have liked the unthinking GLBT orthodoxists at DU, but I still stuck up for them - even Maddy (who I think is about as dumb as dirt).

Big Sky Brad Writes

Can I ask you a question, Dave? How old are you?
Publish Reject (big_sky_brad) 7:31 PM (Today)

Big Sky Brad -

My e-mail address is in my profile, to the right. Feel free to write, if you feel you have something to get off your chest, or a burning question that needs an answer.

I supported John F. Kerry in 2004. Did Jerome A. Papa, or did he disrupt as a spoiled Deaniac who wouldn't let it go when Dean lost?

Even Skinner supported Kerry, once he was the clear nominee: 7/22/04, 7/29/04, and again, 7/29/04.

BTW, interesting homepage, dude. Welcome. Page 1. Page 2.

Now, don't go saying I hacked it, because I did no such thing.

Like I said: my e-mail is to the right. If you have something you need to write, my suggestion would be to use that. If you're feeling that extra inch today, my snailmail is public, too, and you're welcome to put your real return address on it, like an honorable veteran would.

- Dave

P.S. This reveals a lot about DW, too: BSB, Scout, Bammo, and Laurie (a.k.a. ...)

Skinner, EarlG, and Elad have a chance to prove that they really care about their users at DU

On March 28, Skinner (David Allen, Admin of DemocraticUnderground) sicced his lawyers on BigJerr, Administrator of DemocraticWarrior.

On April Fool's Day, Skinner posted a notice to his community entitled, Your donation dollars at work.

Here's a more legible copy of the letter which was posted in another (now deleted) thread. It is from our lawyer, and it was sent to the administrator of a website which shall remain nameless.

As you know, we take your privacy seriously. For that reason, we ask that all of our moderators sign a moderator confidentiality agreement. (You can read a copy of the agreement here.) A little more than a week ago, an anonymous person claiming to be a former moderator from DU showed up on another website.

We checked all of the claims made by that person, and found that none of our former moderators matches with the history of service claimed by this individual. It is our belief that this person was not a DU moderator. Nonetheless, on the off-chance that he or she really did serve as a mod and did sign the moderator agreement, we feel that we have an obligation to our members to make sure that the moderator confidentiality agreement is enforced. Thus, the letter below.

Protecting your privacy. Your donation dollars at work: (followed by high-res scan of letter)

Now, Skinner (David Allen) and EarlG (David Allsopp) have been made aware that Crazy Guggenheim = BigJerr, Administrator of said site "which shall remain nameless," also known as DemocraticWarrior.

They have also been made aware that they have been the recipient of donor star money that has been scammed out of DUers by at least one of Crazy Guggenheim's / BigJerr's / Jerome A. Papa's sockpuppets at DU.

It remains to be seen whether Skinner was bluffing with his lawyers' letter, or whether he meant business when he said he intends to protect his users at DU, and their privacy.

A study in stupidity: Part I

BigJerr writes: "It looks like CGA broke into my Photobucket Account! The police are going be to notified soon!"

That's so amazingly stupid, and shows just how unthinking and panic-stricken he truly is.

1. The link that was posted here was the link I received as a tipoff:

2. The link I was provided was to Crazy Guggenheim's PhotoBucket, not to Big Jerr's. Oops! I think BigJerr just admitted that he's Crazy Guggenheim! Will Crazy Guggenheim be calling the police, or BigJerr? Or will the voices in his head sing harmony?

"What a looney!! He replaced the photos with some porn and racist material."

No. I merely followed a link that was provided to me, and had the good sense to save down what I saw. Clutching at straws, BigJerr / Crazy Guggenheim / Jerome A. Papa of San Rafael, California is trying to persuade gullible users - with the help of complict DWers - that I committed a Federal offense and hacked a PhotoBucket account that BigJerr now claims is his.

But the stupidity gets funnier from there.

Big Sky Brad thanks BigJerr for this useful OP (Original Post). BSB doesn't ask for one iota of proof from BigJerr, which is telling. Nor does he question why BigJerr is claiming to be the owner of Crazy Guggenheim's PhotoBucket account.

Logic is in short supply there. So is healthy skepticism.

FuzzySlippers - BigJerr's Amen Aider and Abetter - jumps in to say: "Before this, I would have said he belongs in a mental institution. Now I say he belongs in jail!!!"

Apparently, she thinks others are morons. In order to put me in prison - for a Federal offense - Jerome A. Papa is going to have to produce proof to the authorities that gets them to believe that such an offense has occurred, and that I am the perpetrator of said offense. Then, assuming that he can convince FBI agents and the U.S. Attorney's Office, a grand jury will be empaneled. Then, if the grand jury buys Jerome A. Papa and his "evidence," I will be indicted. Then, assuming I am indicted, I will have all the discovery tools afforded to a criminal defendant in the United States, who is accused of a Federal offense.

I await Jerome A. Papa's proof with what Mark Twain described as the ethics of "a Christian holding four aces."

Notably, FuzzySlippers doesn't ask for - or offer - one shred of evidence from Jerome A. Papa (her studmuffin). Big Sky Brad thanks her for her useful post.

Zatoichi1 chimes in: "I am not taking any sides on this one. I like both parties. Both Big Jerr and CGA. This stuff does make me sad more than anything else."

Thinking is hard. Zat just wants to hug a tree, and be sad. He doesn't want to ask BJ to produce a little proof, nor does it occur to him that BigJerr just claimed ownership of CG's PhotoBucket account. Hmmmmm.

FuzzySlippers retorts: "It's not about taking sides, Zat. It's about one party doing something illegal."

Jerome A. Papa?

"Last night, I discovered CGA was linking to Jerr's photobucket account from his blog."

GASP!!! I linked to Crazy Guggenheim's PhotoBucket account - after discovering I had received a tipoff in my e-mail Inbox. OMG! Google links to DemocraticWarrior! OMG! They must have hacked the site!!! Call the police and put Google in jail! MORON!

But, thanks for echoing that the PhotoBucket account is actually BigJerr's, and confirming that they're one and the same.

"At that time, Jerr thought it unlikely that CGA had broken into his account and rather that he, Jerr, had unintentionally set the account to public."

Well, the first set of images were frightening in their own right. I most certainly DID NOT break into his account. I merely followed the link provided to me as a tipoff, and saved what I saw.

"Jerr then deleted the images."

That is borne out by an e-mail I received, saying that the account was locked down and/or empty. In fact, I assumed BJ was ashamed of what he had up there - it was pretty sick.

"Today I checked again, linking from CGA's blog, and found 37 images. Only a couple were Jerr's original images. The rest were a variety of offensive and taunting material, including several 'pwned' posters. Draw your own conclusions."

The conclusion I drew was that he was taunting others and me with those disgusting pictures, now that he knew that we had seen his account. If his account has been hacked (which I highly doubt), maybe you should consider that someone else did it (e.g., someone whose board he has disrupted repeatedly in the past, besides DU).

It's one thing to suspect that I did it. It's quite another to accuse me of a Federal offense, publicly, in writing, with no proof at all. This is libel, per se, and will be pursued, to get to the bottom of matters, and to clear my name of this accusation.

Notably, Big Sky Brad thanked FuzzySlippers for her useful post.

SouthernDem 2006 - a small town deputy sheriff in Mississippi - jumps in with his Barney Fife observation: "Becoming apparent the guy is a wack job. Best to just ignore him."

I wonder if he brings that high-minded logic to bear in his law enforcement job each day? This dumbass will never make FBI agent.

FBI agents interviewing Jerome A. Papa would ask him: "Is there anyone besides CGA who might have done this? Mr. Papa, do you have anyone else in cyberspace or your real life who might have done this, then sent CGA the link, hoping he'd publish it?"

Keep it up, SouthernDem 2006: you'll make Barney Fife of the Year yet! MORON.

FuzzySlippers rants: "You don't think cyber-crime is 'real' crime?"

I sure do. Accusing someone of hacking across state lines, without proof, is some serious libel, FuzzySlippers. Thanks for making the point, MORON, that Jerome and you are accusing me of a "real" crime. Please, keep commenting.

Notably, Big Sky Brad thanked FS for her useful post.

SouthernDem 2006 yammered back at FS: "How exactly did you get that from what I stated???"

I have to give him his due here. FS leapt to a conclusion about his meaning - just like she leapt to a conclusion about BigJerr's account being hacked.

LittlePinky82 pipes up: "It's definitely a real crime and hacking is illegal."

It is, and it is. It's also a valid civil claim to bring an action for libel, per se, when someone accuses you of a Federal offense you didn't commit. How very good to see a progressive with a healthy appreciation for law and order: no doubt, you'll support me in my right to seek appropriate remedies from Jerome A. Papa of San Rafael, CA.

Notably, Big Sky Brad thanked this user.

FuzzySlippers responds to SD2006: "Well, you said to ignore him. This is a crime."

Assuming, for the sake of argument, that BigJerr's / Crazy Guggenheim's / Jerome A. Papa's PhotoBucket account was somehow hacked (unlikely, but let's just play along with FuzzySlippers and Jerome): neither offers one iota of proof that I had anything at all to do with that account, other than posting a link I received as a tipoff.

Instead, these two - cornered and desperate at having been unmasked - are urging others to follow them off their Thelma and Louise Cliff of Illogical Conclusions: someone hacked, so it naturally follows that CGA is the one who did it.

That, friends, is a non sequitur. I wouldn't have the foggiest frakkin' clue how to do that; even if I did, I wouldn't.

SD2006 whimpers: "I still do not see how you reached your conclusion that I do not think cyber crimes are real crimes."

Poor little Barney Fife. FuzzySlippers is insisting he fall into line with her illogical thinking, and he's getting beaten up on - again.

Sadly, Nanette writes: "I anything that he said true? I mean like him being from WV and where he went to school and such?"

Oh, Nanette. Apply a little Mountaineer common sense here. If you need some proof, just contact me. Don't buy into BJ and FS and their self-serving denials and spin.

Now, Maat - the law school grad who never passed the bar - writes: "Well, BigJerr can report this; and, then, I hope that he takes all the preventative measures that he can to preclude this very hurtful behavior. Finally, I hope that he does not let this get his blood pressure up into the stratosphere."

Ah, but Maat missed a critical cross-examination question: assuming - arguendo - that BigJerr's PhotoBucket account was hacked (highly doubtful, but let's go with that assumption), then there still has to be something that establishes who did it.

I'm sure Maat would have to agree: a break-in (real or virtual) is a crime. Establishing the perpetrator of such a crime is required, in order to convict.

Maybe Maat should ask BJ who else might have had motive to hack his account, and who might have sent me a link to it, to try to play me against BigJerr.

Big Sky Brad stops thanking, and starts mouthing off: "No, everything he said is suspect now. It doesn't look like he went to school. Instead it looks like he got schooled. This is what happens when people have way too fucking much time on their hands."

BigJerr has a pom pom girl in Idaho, and - from what I'm learning - BSB and BJ go way back on board wars.

My graduation from Harvard is verifiable. My record in WV is verifiable. My ability to get in front of a Federal Judge for injunctive relief will also be verifiable.

BSB - some people are coming out of the woodwork to clue me in about you, too.

Now comes TroubleInWinter (a.k.a., AGrieferForAllSeasons), to yip yap from DU, and respond to Nanette's question about my veracity: "That's an interesting question. I think everyone posts a certain amount of truth, even a liar."

Speaking from personal experience, no doubt, right, TIW?

"But I've read CGA for a very long time and developed the opinion early on that he was full of bullshit. So extremely full of it, that I spent time reading his off-board junk. He seems to forget that the internet never forgets. His stories don't always match up with the persona he presents."

Examples? I mean, TIW can't follow 2+2 = 4 quite often, so consider the source of this observation.

"I am not completely sure if he is a liar/disruptor, but think more likely that he is just a pitiful person with delusions. Unfortunately, he has managed to smear and harm many people along the way."

For someone who would seem to care about the DU community, TIW jumps right past what BigJerr / Crazy Guggenheim (and his sockpuppets) and FuzzySlippers (and hers) have done at DU. Hmmmmm.

"I think he'll likely find a brand new playground where he isn't known, and the whole game will begin anew... gathering a following of fans, pals and friends only to eventually burn them down."

I think I'll likely be in Federal Court this week, to call Jerome A. Papa to account for his libel, per se, and to get to the bottom of what DW is really all about.

"I have been a member of DW for a long time, but had not posted until CGA posted my name here on DW demanding Skinner save anything I may have written (even in PMs) in relation to anything about CGA, or face legal consequences of 'spoilage of evidence'. WTF?!!!?!"

Once again, yippy, you completely misunderstand what was asked for, yet persist in screeching about it.

"I'm nothing at all special,"

Nope, you're really not, especially when it comes to logic and reading for comprehension. Yet, you deemed yourself fit to yap at my heels over matters you can't comprehend (e.g., the Concealed Clinton Donor Lists).

"and have no relationship with the others he mentioned in his 'legal letter'."

So what? You were still one of the most prolific griefers, anytime any mention was made of the Concealed Clinton Donor Lists. Where did I say you were part of a group? I just think you're a very dumb individual, who griefed a valid meme regarding the Clintons and HDRC's viability.

"If I were to write a PM to a DU pal saying 'I think CGA is a complete nutcase.", I would regard that as private, but he aparently regards it as "evidence" (evidence of what, exactly, he relentlessly refused to say)'."

Moron, go back and re-read what I asked for; I don't want your communications with third parties. Jesus, you won't let go of that misconception, will you? Keep yapping, and keep playing the victim. MORON.

"Whether CGA is a deliberate disruptor or a pitiful disturbed person in need of help, it remains that a lot of time, attention and energy is wasted by well-intentioned people who follow his crap, goose-chases and smears."

Hey, MORON, you did see that the Concealed Clinton Donor Lists were for sale, right? Sorry to have led you on that wild goose chase. I'm sure your intentions were good when you ignored all the evidence.

"No, his many stories don't add up."

Uh-huh. With so many to choose from, you didn't manage to debunk one?

Interesting. Yip. Yap.

BigJerr chimes in: "We have his address. BTW, he lives in Alexandria, Virginia. So the FBI knows where to pick him up. If the men in the white coats don't get him first."

Yeah, funny how that works, Jerome A. Papa, of San Rafael, California! When you're not a craven little cybercoward, your address tends to be out there in the public domain.

As for the FBI agents: I'll put on a pot of coffee for them, and get out the good cookies. I'll also have the evidence dossier ready for them. I've had the FBI in my home before, for realsies.

Just let me know when I should expect them, so I can put a ballcap on. I've been too sick to make it for a haircut, so I'm a little scruffy up top.

Jerome, I don't scare at idle threats. I have a degree in Government from Harvard, and friends in every place I need them to take counsel, and take care of this in a peaceful, non-violent, and legal fashion that gets to the bottom of your activities. If I didn't scare over death threats received over the Halliburton thing, your silly little magic wand rattling ain't gonna do it either.

PoconoPragmatist chimes in with a bit of logic: "I'd also report him to his ISP, if you can prove he did this stuff."

That makes more sense than most of the tripe in this thread. IF BigJerr can prove I did "this stuff" (i.e., commit a Federal offense), he should report me to my ISP.

Indeed.

BigJerr thanks this post. But, of course, he provides no evidence.

Teech posts a funny picture.

Radfringe weighs in, cutting against the grain: "I've known dave for a couple of years, messing with someone's account is not his style - this is not something he would do or even consider doing"

Amen. It wouldn't even cross my mind to do this to someone. "Gentlemen don't read other gentlemen's mail." Nor do they hack each other's accounts.

"i just checked out a few public photobucket albums, unless you are the 'owner' or have 'owner authorization' you can't edit/upload pics"

I've never used PhotoBucket, except to view other people's PhotoBucket accounts. I don't have an account; however, PhotoBucket apparently responds to third-party subpoenas, showing - for instance - who might have hacked a user's account. I will plan to seek discovery there, to see what PhotoBucket's own records show about the activity related to BigJerr's - er, Crazy Guggenheim's - account.

"you would need to login as the owner of the account

you are barking up the wrong tree on this one"

Yeah, it's either a hack done by someone else (in which case, Jerome has a legitimate beef with someone, just not with me; I'd support him in pursuing that third party, but I would also seek appropriate remedies for his libel, per se), or it's a sad and desperate attempt to portray me as a hacker.

KyndCulture thanked Radfringe for this post.

SouthernDem2006 Barney Fifes it up again: "Then why was CGA linking to his bucket account? Even I saw that."

I will use little words. I got a tip. I got a link. I posted said link. I did not hack the account. Now, Barney: who bears the burden of proof? The accused, or the accuser?

Pull. Your. Head. Out. Of. Your. Ass.

Big Sky Brad - BigJerr's accomplice from past board wars, apparently, from what I'm learning - jumps all over Radfringe: "Oh, this is interesting. Now you can read minds over the internet!"

No, but she does know me well enough to know that I ain't gonna hack someone's account, you MORON. Why would I throw away all I've worked for, to commit a Federal offense, MORON?

"Why don't you climb back onto your broom and fly all over the internet and tell everyone how fucking smart you are. I'm sure they will all be as impressed with your absolutely totally unbelievable fuckin' bullshit as we all were with Dave's absolutely totally unbelievable fuckin' bullshit."

Wow. Just wow.

"Dave's no longer here. He's persona non grata at DW. That's Latin for 'he sucks'."

Here's one for you, BSB: mens rea. It means guilty mindset. Methinks BigJerr and you are on pins and needles about what I now know.

"Alas, we knew him not. Oh, how fuckin' sad."

You'll come to. You'll come to.

"When you next talk to Dave, tell him the internet was not created to give him a life. It was created to use as a communication device that was to be used every once in awhile. Not 24 hours a day!"

As someone whose mind is willing, but whose body is often uncooperative from Crohn's, I have adapted to this reality. I'm sure BSB is a real mover and a shaker, with all that time he spends offline.

Christine jumps Radfringe, rather than applying a little logic: "Defending the indefensible..."

Apparently, Christine has decided that - with no proof - I'm a criminal and a hacker.

Zatoichi1 weighs back in on everything I wrote being suspect: "Sad but true."

Go hug a tree, since you're clearly not a thinker.

GymGeekAus jumps on SouthernDem2006 for suggesting that others ignore me: "Which leads to the conclusion that you think we should ignore real crimes, since you suggested we ignore this one. Or at the very least, you are suggesting we ignore those who commit real crimes."

Well, first, GGA, let's establish: (1) that an actual hack did take place; and (2) that BigJerr has even one iota of evidence that I did more than post a link that I received as a tipoff. Wouldn't that make a little sense? Ever sat on a jury? In a criminal court of law, the prosecution bears the burden of proof, not the Defendant.

"Which is what other posters are finding so shocking."

What third-party observers of DW are finding so shocking is that so few DWers seem to be asking the most basic questions here.

"But hey, we haven't been a nation of laws in over 7 years now. Knock yourself out, dude. No moral judgement here."

No logical judgment, either.

Teech jumps in with a very simple question (which is subversive to BigJerr's spin): "last time I checked you had to have a password for photobucket regardless or it being public or not

what gives?????? this is messed up"

Careful, Teech. You're dangerously close to pricking the balloon of BigJerr's illogical spinmeistering.

Teech, here's the deal: PhotoBucket's own records will help reveal what really happened.

; )

It may not be palatable to many, but sometimes, a civil action is what is called for, to expose the Jerome A. Papa's of the world.

Big Sky Brad screeches at Teech: "What does the phrase 'broke into' mean to you guys?"

It means, BSB, that a crime has been committed. What it does not mean, however, is that I did it (assuming that it wasn't staged by BigJerr). Non sequitur - Latin for "you're a MORON when it comes to logical fallacies."

What does "insurance fraud" mean to you, BSB? If you stage a break-in to collect insurance money, was there a break-in, or did you commit fraud?

"Seriously, one night last summer my garage was locked tight. But that night someone broke into my garage and they stole some of my tools. The last time I checked my garage was locked tight. But the thief broke into my garage."

Did they ever establish who did it? OMG! Maybe it was me!!! Maybe I broke into your garage, BSB! MORON. If the authorities never caught who did it, then your story is meaningless, MORON.

"Do you get it?

Yet?"

Yup, we get it. BigJerr and you are board war accomplices from way back, from what I'm learning from a few sources. You're spinning a supposed "break-in," overlooking the lack of evidence or proof that I did anything other than post a link that I received as a tipoff.

MORON.

KyndCulture writes: "I am taking NO sides in this stupid ass fucking dick wagging contest ....."

It's not a dick wagging contest. It's a battle of wits, and BigJerr is unarmed.

"However, I want to say that breaking into a site like photobucket does take a modicum of geek skills and replacing pictures is NOT POSSIBLE."

I wouldn't have the foggiest clue how to do it.

"That is a dynamic site - all pictures uploaded are assigned a unique identifier."

News to me.

"Now will you all please put your dicks away. I am REALLLY FUCKING SICK OF IT ALL."

*shrug*

I appreciate the interjection of a little factual foundation about PhotoBucket accounts, but I'm not about to let this go, now that I've been accused of committing a Federal offense. I post in my own name, and BigJerr and his accomplices have tried to portray me as a criminal and a hacker. I worked much too hard to let that stand.

There will be a court-ordered public retraction by Jerome A. Papa, and other appropriate remedies taken to curtail his pattern of conduct, if I were a betting man.

Teech thanked Kynd's post.

Xena, a real-life friend of BigJerr's, jumps Kynd: "Um, Kynd, the ignore thread feature is working again if these threads offend you so much."

What offends, Xena, is your lack of intellectual honesty about what is really going on here.

Big Sky Brad jumps Kynd, too: "It's really not a dick wagging contest Kynd. For if it were, you wouldn't be involved in it."

BigJerr jumps in and says to Kynd: "Kynd, look at the evidence and proceed from there. This is not a dick swinging contest but a matter of a possible crime committed."

Interesting. Jerome A. Papa is backpedaling. It's a "possible crime" now, with no name mentioned. What evidence, Jerome? Assuming, for the sake of argument, that you didn't stage the whole PhotoBucket thing, what in the world made you think it was me, instead of one of the other people you've pissed off with your sockpuppets and other antics on many message boards?

What EVIDENCE do you have that I did anything other than post a simple link, which I received as a tipoff, you small-minded MORON?

It's not a dick swinging contest. It's a battle of wits. And you've been low on ammo for a while.

Kynd responds to Big Sky Brad: "You are an insulting person.... I honestly could care less what you think."

BSB is a much more interesting character than you're giving him credit for, Kynd. Don't be so hasty to dismiss this long-time accomplice of BJ's.

Kynd responded to BJ: "Which is exactly what I am trying to do, Jerr. I am trying to figure it out sans drama."

Uh-oh. BigJerr has people calling his bluff now.

Teech writes: "stop--everyone--this is driving people away--enough of this shit"

Teech, sometime thinking hurts.

SouthernDem2006 responds to GymGeekAus: "Lol All you are going to do by pursuing that matter is encourage CGA to continue. If the man is mentally ill it will not matter what you do. The best course of action is to ignore him. Read what you want into that."

SD2006 can't hang, intellectually, so his feeble-minded solution is to ignore that which he cannot grasp. As for being mentally ill: um, Jerome A. Papa will have the opportunity to move a Federal Court to have me examined under Rule 35 of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. Given the tests I've been required to take, in order do my jobs over the years, I'm pretty confident I'll pass.

And on and on it goes.

Meanwhile, BigJerr has admitted that he is the owner of the Crazy Guggenheim PhotoBucket account, and several DWers have shown their complicity and/or dumbassery in helping BigJerr and FuzzySlippers spin, dodge, bob, and weave.

- Dave

Oh, what tangled webs he weaved, when first he practice to deceive!

Sir Walter Scott had Big Jerr / Crazy Guggenheim / Jerome A. Papa of San Rafael, California pegged, down to his toenails. His accomplice, FuzzySlippers, too.

Oh, what tangled webs he weaved, when first he practiced to deceive!

What a tangled web of deceit, indeed, doth Jerome A. Papa and his accomplices weave.

Federal Judges have a way of sorting thru the BS, and - oh! - the things I am learning about discovery tools from my lawyerly friends!

Just got off the phone with a lawyer friend of mine

We'll be in U.S. District Court, first thing Monday morning.

Jerome A. Papa is about to meet the Federal Court system.

- Dave

Libel, Per Se

For Jerome A. Papa of San Rafael, California, a little lesson in the law:

libel per se n. broadcast or written publication of a false statement about another which accuses him/her of a crime, immoral acts, inability to perform his/her profession, having a loathsome disease (like syphilis), or dishonesty in business. Such claims are considered so obviously harmful that malice need not be proved to obtain a judgment for "general damages," and not just specific losses.

In a straw-clutching fit of desperation, Big Jerr - a.k.a., Crazy Guggenheim, a.k.a., Jerome A. Papa of San Rafael, California - has accused me of committing a Federal offense. I am happy to stand trial for the false claim he is making. The discovery tools afforded to a criminal defendant in a Federal criminal trial are without peer in any country.

Meanwhile, on Monday, I'll be spending a little time with some friends of mine here in DC - who know I'd never, EVER hack someone's PhotoBucket, and who can get in front of a Federal Judge in record time.

Apparently, BigJerr and FuzzySlippers wish to keep digging themselves deeper, now that they've been exposed.

- Dave

Jerome A. Papa / BigJerr / CG: The evidence keeps piling up, and the "tick tock" matters to thinking, non-gullible DWers

Let's review:

February 21: DemocraticUnderground and I parted ways. While I disagree with David Allen's (Skinner's) reasons, it's his site. Several DUers and I re-established or maintained contact immediately thereafter.

February 24: I joined up at DemocraticWarrior, at the urging of several, including "FuzzySlippers," a very special friend of BigJerr's / Crazy Guggenheim's, as I later learned from reading at DW.

February 24: BigJerr and I exchanged some PMs. As it turns out, I have those (now that I'm feeling some better from the worst of the Crohn's flare-up, I'm able to do a little digging). Those will be posted shortly, to demonstrate the offers of help I made to BigJerr and to Crazy Guggenheim (at BigJerr's urging), unwittingly writing to the same person, as it later turns out.

February 24: BigJerr wrote: "I'm going to make you official members of the Opposition Research Group. :git_r_done: It just means you will have a notation in you profile for now."

February 24: Unwittingly, I wrote to Crazy Guggenheim: "Jer says we're quite like-minded! I replied to you publicly, but I really have been at this Oppo Research thing for a looooooooooong time. Hail, fellow, and well met! :toast: - Dave"

February 24: "Crazy Guggenheim" wrote back: ":viking[1]: I can hardly wait! Welcome aboard!!"

February 24: Unwittingly, I wrote back to CG: "I LOVE your avatar and the emoticons. The emoticons remind me of my LEGOs. :toast: What are your top concern areas? How can I help? - Dave" I was perfectly willing to defer to CG, since he'd had the foresight to get Oppo Research up and running in the first place. I wanted to know how I could help, and how I could mesh my own Oppo Research efforts with his in a helpful manner.

February 24: Crazy Guggenheim wrote back: "Right now it's anything we can find on McCain and Nader. Mainly McCain right now. I'll get back to you in a couple of hours as I have some stuff to do." Well, that was sort of vague, and disappointing, but we're all busy people. No biggie.

February 24: I wrote back to Crazy Guggenheim: "Sounds like a plan. McCain, yes. Nader, meh. Huckabee, definitely. Florida Governor Charlie Crist, too. Romney, too. I haven't ruled out McCain stepping aside, and a backroom deal being cut between BushCo./Rove with Huckabee, in return for their boy Romney being named Veep. Rove's fingerprints are all over the timing of the NYT story on McCain. - Dave" So, anyone doubting that I jumped right in, and offered to help AND was willing to defer to the Admin and his designated lead guy on Oppo Research, the evidence clealry suggests otherwise.

February 27: Excited by finding a new home from which to conduct meaningful Oppo Research (and to have some good fun with fellow progressives), I took a crack at an Oppo Research Primer. Again, remember: I was still in the dark, and completely clueless, about BJ and CG being the same person. Apparently, BJ has no shame or compunction about using someone else's work, because the thread is still on his site: he cannot do, so he steals the work of others. Looking thru the Oppo Research forums, any lurker or DWer can find multiple threads I started that consist of real Oppo Research on the very topic clusters that BJ/CG claimed he wanted DWers to research. Thankfully, BigJerr has left those threads up, despite my insistence that they be taken down. As a result, the evidence is intact for other thinking, rational progressives to see the Instant Replay timeline.

March 2: A DUer whom I trust informed me that BigJerr and Crazy Guggenheim are one and the same, and pointed me to a picture on DU that proves it. Prior to this point, I had NO CLUE that BJ = CG. To make the point crystal clear: every PM and every public post I made at DW, from February 24 to March 2, was done without any knowledge or inkling that BJ = CG. As previously stated, my initial reaction was tinged by a little bit of anger, but I calmly reasoned that maybe that was how BJ keeps his Admin persona's gavel-wielding separate from his participation in threads. Instead of immediately touching base with BJ/CG about it, I just let it go and decided to play along.

March 2 to April 19: Several DWers drew me aside in cyberspace, outside of DW, to "inform" me that BigJerr and Crazy Guggenheim are one and the same; several also expressed that most insiders know, and have shared this fact with other DWers. Although the trusted DUer was the FIRST to inform me of this information on March 2, she was by no means the last person to do so.

April 18-19: Crazy Guggenheim and I tangled, mildly, in an "Oppo Research" thread about John McCain taking Social Security. Crazy Guggenheim espoused what - to me - is a very unsophisticated view. I tried to play Devil's Advocate, and show how the GOP would easily turn this meme around to peel off independent voters. CG/BJ got his ego bruised. As he had written to one of the DUers who came over to stir trouble: there is only one "superstar" at DW: CG - his merkin.

April 19: BunnyFunk, one of a small handful of DUers who followed me over to DW to hound me there, traded barbs with me. BJ sent me a simple note via PM, telling me that he was giving me a one-day timeout, that he had "some things to think over," and that he would "deal with" BunnyFunk in the interim. He said he hoped I didn't take it too hard, and "see you tomorrow." No biggie. I'm a big boy, and if BJ thought I had stepped over a line by trying to pin down the fact that BunnyFunk was either MonkeyFunk from DU (or one of his little toadies), then all I needed was a simple warning from BJ to that effect. I was sick as a dog from my Crohn's flare-up and complications therefrom, eagerly engaging on some pre-PA activities, and enjoying the camaraderie to be found with fellow DWers on a weekend. It was taking my mind off the considerable pain I was in from the flare-up, and complications therefrom. If I stepped over a line with BunnyFunk, a warning from BigJerr would've been nice; but, it's his board, his rules. I wrote back something like: "If you think that's best." (The latest download of my PMs that I think I have is April 16th; discovery in a lawsuit - for claims much more serious and legally-grounded than BJ's Kermit the Frogging, unthinking, gullible DWers - will yield the rest. Some of you need to wake up and see who Jerome is and what he is all about.)

April 19: BJ / CG is alerted to the fact that his duality is known on DW. He panics.

April 19-22: Using the only means I had (the Contact Me feature at DW), I tried to contact BJ directly to talk things out, and to smooth things over. If he'd only responded, he would've learned that my intended approach was to continue playing dumb on his duality. Instead, he cowered in his cave, and started mouthing off about things that had no bearing on the core issues.

April 20: Via a third party, I asked BigJerr if my Time Out still ended at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, and - if so - for him to contact me directly via e-mail or IM. This third party can verify that BigJerr's response was vague, both as to whether I'd be let back on DW, or when. He was clearly cowering, and trying to figure out a way to forestall a mess of his very own creation - a brew of his own making, as the saying goes.

April 20: The frightened little cybercoward put up the ominous PRE-nial about "some revelations that may occur this week on another site," trying to head those revelations (i.e., that he is CG) off at the pass, by dragging in an innocent third party's personal life.

April 20-22: I continued to try to contact BJ directly via the Contact Me feature, trying to smooth things over. He continued to mouth off to third parties and decontextualize, spinning his user community out of fear that they were about to learn the truth.

April 21: I posted this blog entry. Note that I went to pains not to mention the duality of BJ / CG, and note that - even then - I was, even then, offering to continue to work with BJ on ways to help Obama and defeat McCain. Privately, I was making the very same offers to him.

April 22: Someone tipped me off to the direct e-mail address for BJ at DW, so that I didn't have to use the Contact Me form. From this point forward, I have my own, independent record of what I sent.

April 22: A dormant DWer suddenly appeared at DW, and claims to be receiving PMs that appear to be from me, claiming that revelations about BJ and CG are imminent. That makes no sense, since I am unable to get onto DW. Clearly, someone was trying to stir up trouble, and prey on BJ's paranoia, and/or prey on the more gullible DWers. My suspicions? Possibility One: Someone in the hierarchy at DemocraticUnderground was having a little fun at BigJerr's expense, given what BJ / CG and FuzzySlippers did with the former du mod threads. Suspecting Skinner, I made it very clear to David Allen (Skinner) both publicly and privately, that any seeming rift between BigJerr and me would not benefit him in his own fight with BigJerr. Skinner remains an ineffective political hack wannabe in my book (and many others'), but - giving credit where it's due - I do believe Skinner has a modicum of basic decency. Possibility Two: Some lurking conservative decided to use his or her DW mole, and stir the pot a bit.

April 22: Trying to let BJ know that I saw thru what the dormant DWer was trying to do, and that I suspected Skinner or one his insiders was exploiting a rift, I sent BJ an e-mail to that effect. Using the direct e-mail address the other person provided me, I wrote, at 1:54 p.m. ET: "BigJerr - If you get this, please hit me back. Skinner is trying to play this to his advantage, and - as I just posted on my blog - he is an idiot. - Dave"

April 22: I also posted this blog entry. Note the P.S.

April 22: As with all prior attempts at direct communication, BigJerr / Crazy Guggenheim / Jerome A. Papa of San Rafael, CA, ignored and cybercowered it up. Hardcore.

April 22: At 6:46 p.m. ET, I wrote to BJ: "Watching the PA Primaries without DW Friends...... really bites. I understand you're probably as absorbed in the returns as I am, so I don't matter to you right now. Tomorrow, when all the hooplah is over, you'll have whooped it up with DWers; I'll have spent time with real-life friends, daisy chaining the phone line. In his short story, All Summer in a Day, Ray Bradbury captured the essence of locking away the truthteller in the closet. When you're done with your frolic, please remember to let me out of the closet, and remember to hold your head up high, proudly. - Dave"

April 22: A short while later, another DWer asked, publicly in the PA Primary thread whether anyone had seen me, and noted that my profile no longer showed a Time Out. BigJerr replied that I was no longer a member. This was news to me. Jerome A. Papa is not gentleman enough to send a simple e-mail to someone with his own outlet, apparently.

April 22: At 11:27 p.m. ET (after finishing all primary-related activities with friends for the night, including IM'ing with one DWer, live), I wrote to BJ: "Please delete all my posts. If you need to keep them for archiving offline, I understand. But since I am not a member because of your dishonesty, I don't think it's fitting that they remain on your site. I expect them to be removed by the time I check tomorrow morning. If you don't intend to remove them, please give me the courtesy of a simple reply to that effect, so that I can pass along the information for appropriate action. - Dave"

April 22: My other posts here on PA Primary Day all pertain to the election: (1) Bill Clinton Centipedes It up, Hardcore: Gaffes the Gaffe of His Gaffe; (2) My Pre-Poll Closing Predictions; and (3) Live Blogging PA.

April 23: First things first, I did my data dives for post-mortems on the PA Primary. BigJerr is a very small fish in a puddle, and a cybercoward to boot. My morning began with the daily news sweep I do, and the other daily Oppo Research exercises I do. Still hobbled and hurting, but on the mend, I posted this at 10:45 a.m. ET: Short-Term Tactical Advantage: Rove, Rush, and McCain; Long-Term Strategic Advantage: Obama . In the grand scheme of things, Jerome A. Papa of San Rafael, CA is a minnow. Much more important fish are on the hook this election cycle.

April 23: The most important things attended to, I turned my attention to DW. It was evident that BJ / CG was going to persist in hanging on to my posts (stealing that which he cannot do effectively himself). It was also evident that he was going to continue trying to spin doctor what was really going on. Moreover, it was clear he was going to stoop to dragging in another party and her personal life, in a vain attempt to forestall the consequences of his idiocy. Anyone looking at the posts he made on April 23 - both as BigJerr and as Crazy Guggenheim, with FuzzySlippers joining in as his Aiding and Abetting Amen Chorus, and with some surprisingly gullible or complicit DWers joining in on the refrain - can see that he was pretty consumed with all this.

April 23: At 12:44 p.m. ET, I sent the following, entitled, "Failure to Communicate" ...

BigJerr -

In my book, it is ungentlemanly - not to mention cowardly - to inform someone that he has been booted secondhand.

In my book, it is intellectually dishonest to benefit from someone else's intellectual property, while depriving him of access to it. Even Skinner hasn't blocked my IP address, to prevent me from retrieving my old threads at DU.

In my book, it is intellectually dishonest to have invited me to participate in Oppo Research, only to let your ego get in the way when I took you up on that invite, and dared to take on your sockpuppet over a minor issue. You're all hung up on flag pins, and I offered real, fact-based material that will sink McCain. You beat the dead horse of McCain's Social Security draw, even after I politely showed precisely how a ***professional*** PR team would take those hurled lemons and turn it into lemonade. You posted - as BigJerr - that CG is the superstar of the forum. Ironic, but understandable, given that CG is you.

So, here's what I think happened.

1. FuzzySlippers - whom I think is just lovely, if not very effective at talking some sense into you about all this - admitted to being the one who sent me the recruitment PM at DU. I honestly didn't remember. At the time, I kind of filed it away in the back of my mind. During my three days of no community after the DU TS, Radfringe urged me to check out DW. It clicked that I had received a recruitment message from someone else, and - given how much I trust Radfringe's wisdom and judgment - I decided to give DW a try, after talking it over with a couple of other friends first.

2. The fact that FS - your fiance - recruited me tells me that the two of you probably had your eye on me at DU for a while, and had come to realize that I know what I'm doing when it comes to real Oppo Research. I move in real life circles that give me access to a lot of data, perfectly legally. Besides that, I worked in an Ivy League Law Library for 5 years. I know how to use research tools, and I constantly refresh my skill set. I am a lifelong learner. Clearly, you two had your eye on me at DU.

3. When I joined on February 24th, I had no idea CG was your sockpuppet. However, during my three-day TS period, and even after, I asked a couple of trusted friends on DU to send out messages to people I'd come to know, like, and respect. I wanted to keep in touch with my friends, especially the ones who'd shown they could both play and "hang" intellectually.

4. That list included - and was nearly topped by - REDACTED. She and I had grown quite fond of one another, and we're both writers. She is an incredibly lovely and gifted person, and I was very hopeful of maintaining contact with her.

5. Not only did she respond, but she graciously agreed to talk by phone. What a mind! What a voice! What a genuinely lovely person! She cried as she expounded on a personal story, which is not mine to recount. But I think you know precisely what I'm talking about, don't you?

6. When I mentioned that I had landed at DW, she got an odd hitch to her voice and demeanor. She then recounted the story about your little snit fit when she posted an innocent response in the DU picture thread, and explained that you're one and the same.

7. So, from February 24th until March 2, I had no idea that CG was your sockpuppet. All those eager e-mails I sent, offering you help, were sent with me being in the dark about your dishonesty.

8. When I found out, I thought it over. "Well, OK. That's his approach to running his board. I'll play along. What's the harm? He probably does that to keep people from being mad at his Admin persona. OK. I will play along."

9. But, I made sure one friend, in particular, knew the truth. He was skeptical about you to begin with, and lurked from the road. He thought something was not quite right about your secrecy. He thinks you're a cybercoward. I'm not quite there in my thinking, yet, but I'm leaning that direction now.

10. Your failure to communicate reeks of a guilty conscience. And before you rattle your magic wand at me - or any of my friends - and before your mod clique decides to malign me, know this: I will not stand idly by and be maligned. I have worked much too hard to allow that. I have shared my intellectual property, and made genuine offers of help to you, and you responded by jingling your coin cup - via your trained monkey sockpuppet. Savvy givers hold out, to make sure that the cause or organization is on the up-and-up. You failed every test I set for you: (1) I suggested that you set up a WishList, and tell the user community what you need, and why you need it - you failed; (2) I suggested a token gift from the user community - you failed; (3) I suggested you set a goal for the user community to meet - you failed; and when you were asked for the simplest up-and-up litmus test answer of all (a simple snailmail address), you punted on giving an answer to Ides. By this time, red flags, sirens, bells, whistles, and alarms were going off; why would anyone who isn't a coward, a thief, or both, not give a simple snail mail, especially since the check would go 100% toward the organization, instead of having the PayPal haircut?

You have a lot of explaining to do.

While you're thinking up whether you want to tell me another pack of lies, or come clean, I find that my posts are still on your site.

Do you have an attorney? If so, what is his or her address? If not, what is yours? I made it quite clear that I don't brook someone using my intellectual property unfairly. You cannot keep the posts online; don't imagine for one moment that you can. You want to lead an Oppo Research effort? Fine. Lead. But don't steal someone else's intellectual property and call that leadership, CG/BJ.

And - before you fly off the handle and do something stupid, or allow FS or Xena, or anyone else to do so, grow up and do the right thing.

- Dave

P.S. Since March 2, a number of DWers have asked me whether I already knew or not that CG is you.

You're not fooling anyone, at least not most of the smart ones.

- Dave

April 23: Having now pretty much washed my hands of BigJerr growing up and doing the right thing, at 1:44 p.m. ET, I took the advice I was receiving from friends who are MUCH SMARTER than Jerome A. Papa, and posted this invitation, for others to come join me in brainstorming the creation of a board that will become a model for others to aspire to become.

April 23: Around that time, he began rattling his silly little magic wand that he planned to post cherry-picked PMs, decontextualized, and to reveal skeletons in closets. More idiotic of a way to handle this, he could not have chosen.

April 23: At 2:49 p.m. ET, I sent him a simple e-mail: "POPCORN. This should be interesting. - Dave P.S. I think I'd talk to your lawyer, before you do anything tho." Jerome A. Papa of San Rafael, CA has a very poor understanding of the law, apparently.

April 23: At 2:56 p.m. ET, I sent this to the innocent third party whom Jerome A. Papa was threatening to expose:

This is what I sent BJ/CG. (forwarded the 12:44 p.m. e-mail, "Failure to Communicate," so she had context)

Instead of talking to me, man-to-man, he handled a simple misunderstanding like a cowering child.

And now, apparently, in retaliation, he plans to reveal more, going another round of failing to just talk to me, and do an amicable parting of the ways.

Methinks he's more interested in ad revenue from rubberneckers, than he is in being a grownup.

- Dave

April 23: Compulsively checking my blog, and learning that I had set up a brainstorm board that he cannot see, Jerome A. Papa fired a totally erroneous shot in the dark on DW:

"Guess what their big Opposition Research is about? This big deal is whether or not Crazy Guggenheim and I are the same person!!

He been damn near trying to black mail me with this!! "

April 23: At 3:53 p.m. ET, I wrote to him (after a thinking DWer, who sees what is really going on, tipped me off to this latest bit of idiocy):

Not a word is mentioned about you on my board.

"Guess what their big Opposition Research is about? This big deal is whether or not Crazy Guggenheim and I are the same person!!

He been damn near trying to black mail me with this!! "

Not one word is mentioned about you.

You suck at this.

- Dave

April 23: At 3:54 p.m. ET, I posted Someone is misinformed, exposing just how desperate Jerome A. Papa is to spin this. The purpose of the brainstorm board is not to bash him, or any other message board operator. While sincere and honest critiques of other message boards' pitfalls and pratfalls are welcome, the intent is to avoid those mistakes, and establish a new benchmark of excellence. Those who fail to learn their history are doomed to repeat it. The purpose of the brainstorm board is to do an honest review of other boards' mistakes, in an honest attempt to build a better board, and learn from other boards' history of mistakes. But, in Jerome's paranoid little mind, it was a place where he was being bashed. No mention was made of him at all, and I've made clear to a couple of new members that that is not the purpose of the brainstorm board.

April 23: At 4:03 p.m. ET, I received a response from the innocent third party:

I am sorry this has turned out to be such a mess, sweetie...I really don't know what to say.

I had my own dust-up with him, and am no longer talking to him. Here's what happened: He joined DU, unbeknownst to me, under a new name. I don't recall it now. Of course, he knew who I was! We began talking and were friendly. Then one day, he showed up in a thread about starless people, and he lamented that he didn't have one. Via PM, I offered to buy him one. And then I did.

Then he was TS'd. I didn't see it happen, and was unaware of it. THEN, I got an email from CG, in which he revealed himself. He told me he would have revealed his true identity if he'd gotten to 1000 posts, which of course, he didn't get to. I was outraged. I finally told him (via email) to cancel my account at DW, since I was never going to show up there again, and to never talk to me again. I told him I felt used, and I think I was. I was really really really upset. I'm done with him, and I told him so. So......I'm sorry for your predicament. I really wish you could come back to DU. I miss you there, and the fun we had.

Take care, sweetie...

April 23: At 6:02 p.m. ET, I wrote back:

REDACTED -

First, so that he doesn't whine that I went behind his back, please note that I have cc:ed BJ / CG on this e-mail.

I miss you too! It is so very sad that BigJerr / CG let his ego get in the way of effective Oppo Research at his site, while wasting his time bragging on his site about all the sockpuppets he creates at DU, and their misadventures.

While I lingered at DU a little at first, all I do now is go back and copy/paste an occasional piece of writing of which I was especially proud. Being a writer yourself, I know you understand.

It comes as very little surprise to me that BJ / CG bummed a donor star for his sockpuppets. Apparently, the suckers donating to his site aren't seeing their donations put to use for his sockpuppets' misadventures.

: )

I hope all is well on your end. At some point, if you're the least bit interested in his little MeloTrauma, I will gladly fill you in on what got him riled up.

- Dave

P.S. Since he insists on posting e-mails publicly, may I let others know how I first found out that he's one and the same? Silly braying jackass doesn't realize it, but many of his own members privately notified me that he is one and the same. I tried to act surprised all but once.

April 23: At 6:20 p.m. ET, I sent this e-mail to one of the DWers that I thought might be taken in by Jerome A. Papa:

X -

I am crestfallen that BigJerr / Crazy Guggenheim and I had a falling out.

It would be delightful if you gave your insights and suggestions here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheStrangersRoom/

The purpose of the brainstorm board is NOT to bash any other board. Rather, it's to air problems we've seen at other boards, and to build a full-scale board from the ground up, which applies best practices, and sets a whole new standard for progressive thought, activism, good fun, Oppo Research, etc.

Importantly to me, I also want it to set a new standard of excellence for fair modding with due process.

: )

Please give it a look, and be sure to read the first message, "Welcome!"

All my best,

- Dave

April 23: At 7:36 p.m. ET, REDACTED (the innocent third party whom Jerome A. Papa has seen fit to drag thru the mud, to try to forestall and/or detract from the revelation of his actions at DW and other sites) wrote back: "You may certainly let everyone know how you found out! I am fine; the mammograms went well... See you later!" Now, let the record reflect that I sought - and obtained - the explicit permission of the third party, to make a truthful revelation, to fill in the timeline date of March 2. Let the record reflect that Jerome A. Papa - from the moment he first feared being unmasked - rattled his magic wand at her, to try to forestall and/or distract from the revelation of his activities at DW, DU, and elsewhere (aided and abetted by FuzzySlippers). Finally, let the record reflect that I would still have come to learn of his identity, because active DWers told me after March 2.

April 23: At 7:40 p.m. ET, I wrote back to her: "I couldn't be more relieved. I was worried that maybe he was your man, and I didn't want to be an ass and divulge a confidence. I would have far rather appeared the ass, than to have allowed your private matters to be aired. Moreover, I am relieved to hear you are well. Please stay in touch.

: )

- Dave"

April 23: At 7:43 p.m. ET, I went public - only after receiving REDACTED's explicit approval: Meet BigJerr / Crazy Guggenheim. While awaiting the answer from REDACTED, I had drafted the revelation. If she had refused to grant her permission, I would have edited the draft to conform to her wishes. Her permission filled in a critical link in the timeline, however: March 2.

April 23: At 9:59 p.m. ET, I wrote to her: "Please look this over when you get a moment, and make sure I haven't befuddled any of the details.

: )

April 23: At 11:28 p.m. ET, I wrote to David Allen (Skinner) and David Allsopp (EarlG) of DemocraticUnderground, assuming that they, too, were in the dark about CG's defrauding REDACTED. I may think that Skinner is an ineffective little wannabe when it comes to real-life progressive activism, but I do think he has a modicum of human decency, and I do think that he will take appropriate steps to protect DUers from CG/BJ and FS:

I had no idea that BigJerr/Crazy Guggenheim ... ... was defrauding REDACTED: http://corpgovactivist.blogspot.com/2008/04/meet-bigjerr-crazy-guggenheim.html

All of Crazy Guggenheim's and FuzzySlippers' public admissions on DW about their sockpuppeting: CG is BigJerr, and FuzzySlippers is his fiance.

REDACTED is far too lovely a person to be taken advantage of like that.

- Dave

April 23: At 11:42 p.m. ET, REDACTED wrote back: "It looks accurate to me! Nicely done...

I'm available to talk, if you would like...via phone. I can't remember if I called you, or if you called me. However, either way works, if you'd like...

I'm here, at the computer (no, really! lol) and by my phone..."

April 23: At 11:57, I replied: "I would change any comma you asked me to, you know.

May we punt until sometime tomorrow? REDACTED, I have been very sick, and should already be a-bed: http://corpgovactivist.blogspot.com/2008/04/to-my-friends-at-du-dw-and-pi-happy.html

- Dave"

April 24: The antibiotics and treatment for my Crohn's, and serious complications therefrom, began to take hold, a little. More DWama Queens Salon spinmeistering at DW, and more gullible, gossiping DWama Queen Salon patrons buying into it. Those who are buying into his spinmeistering are going to look very foolish when their HairDWo is done.

April 24: Still barely able to sit upright, I discovered that BJ / CG had escalated this whole thing, to explicitly drag in the innocent third party.

April 24: At 1:07 a.m., I wrote to BigJerr, with the intent that he share it with FuzzySlippers, too: "Interesting approach ... ... you two are acting like Bill and Hillary - brazening your way thru, and acting like you didn't deceive DUers and DWers.

You should be mortified for preying on REDACTED, and you're laughing about it?

Sick.

- Dave"

April 24: At 9:33 a.m. ET, I wrote to him: "Your address? The lawsuit is drafted. Where shall I serve it? - Dave"

April 24: He continued to make light of the odious manner in which he treated the innocent third party, clearly intending to infuriate me. I pass a point after which I am no longer infuriated. I become cool, calm, collected, focused, set-jawed, and determined. If you've gotten me to that point, after rebuffing my attempts to work things out, well: finish that sentence however you like, but don't dream for a second I'm joking around, or blowing smoke.

April 24: While he continued to cherry pick and spinmeister, I calmly set about answering my own question. At 10:09 a.m. ET, I wrote: "Jerome A. Papa. 11 Merrydale Rd. #15 | San Rafael, CA | 94903 | United States

Is that where DW can be served, as well as you?

- Dave"

April 24: Predictably, he played the victim, and yammered to everyone that I had crazily tracked him down. It wasn't hard to do.

April 24: At 11:29 a.m. ET, I wrote of his odious approach to having retaliated against the third party who FIRST informed me of the open secret that he is BigJerr AND Crazy Guggenheim: Crazy Guggenheim - Proud to Be a Merkin (Definitely Not a Merlin). Some of my friends and I call cybercowards with sockpuppets merkins, because that's really what they are: cover-ups for ...

April 24: At least one DWer tried to gently persuade Jerome A. Papa to take down the unnecessarily hurtful threads about the innocent third party. I tried to echo that sentiment when I came to learn of it from a DWer who sees things clearly: Blessed are the peacemakers! I was extremely hopeful that he would listen to reason, and that some of his so-called "friends" at DW would knock him upside his head and talk some sense into him (including, ceasing to yammer and spin and dig himself deeper into a hole, and reach out to me directly to work things out).

April 24: I tried to give insights into what I consider to be true leadership, and explain why I wasn't content to salute without candor to BJ / CG: A Profile in Leadership: A Young George C. Marshall (Compulsion for Speaking Truth to Power)

April 24: I tried to refocus others on what matters most: not DWama Queen Salon gossip, but real and effective progressive activism that will bear real fruit thru the fall and beyond: Thank you to those who have given sound counsel, advice, and/or posted comments below...

April 24: I spent time on my new brainstorm board, getting the conversation started about a new board. The brainstorm board is NOT a place to bash Jerome A. Papa, Skinner, or any other Admin or site operator. It is a place to "measure twice, cut once" before launching a new board, in Beta mode.

April 25: At 1:54 p.m. ET, I sent Jerome A. Papa the last direct communication I intend to send him, outside of court-ordered or legally-required communications:

It has come to my attention ... that you consider my attempts to communicate with you to be harrassment.

The adult thing to do, is to send a simple e-mail to me, informing me of such, and telling me that you do not care to receive further communications from me outside of legally-required or court-ordered communications.

Instead, you're mouthing off to third parties, while failing to mention that you haven't responded to me.

The first e-mail was harrassment? No, Jerome. It was an attempt to communicate with you like an adult, and to give you a chance to give me your side of it.

You claimed that if Skinner had merely contacted you, like an adult, rather than siccing his lawyers on you, that you would have responded to him like an adult.

In reliance upon your statement, I tested your claim.

You failed yet another test, and lied again. When the road meets the rubber, you say one thing out of one side of one of your mouths, and then do something completely different.

At one point, I agreed with you that Skinner jumped the gun by not communicating with you directly first, before involving his law firm.

Now, I think Skinner wouldn't have gotten anything other than what you're doing now.

You would have played the victim, like Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton. You wouldn't have responded to him directly, like a gentleman. Your actual actions in this matter belie your claims in the other matter.

Ah, well. Live and learn. Thank you for the lessons in duplicity you have taught me. Even a complete dumbass can teach a lesson: http://www.despair.com/mis24x30prin.html

Since you're labeling my communications as harrassment, I will cease and desist from communicating directly with you, outside of legally-required or court-ordered communications.

Should I ask the court to stamp and emboss two Summonses, or just the one?

- Dave

April 24: Sometime in the late hours (11ish), I was winding down with my politcal TiVo shows, and doing some catch-up on e-mails. Apparently, someone had sent me an anonymous link to Crazy Guggenheim's PhotoBucket page. As sick and run down as I was, I did not see it until many hours after it was sent.

date: Thu, Apr 24, 2008 at 1:08 PM
subject: CG/BJ

http://s44.photobucket.com/albums/f25/CrazyGuggenheim/?start=0

I subsquently received other information, which detailed Jerome A. Papa's message board disruption activities and M.O. during the 2004 cycle. Apparently, not a lot has changed since 2004.

April 25: At midnight, I posted this: Sometimes, you just really don't want to know...

April 25: At 12:07 a.m. ET, I saved the PhotoBucket page, and some of the more bizarre shots (e.g., the PhotoShopped porn shot of Ann Coulter on TIME, animated boob shots, pictures he had of the DU Admins, pictures denigrating John Kerry, screenshots of his sockpuppets' views of DU, etc.). Figuring that once he saw that I had posted these bizarre shots, he'd probably lock the PhotoBucket link down, I went ahead and grabbed it all.

April 25: At 8:20 a.m., I posted a couple of the photos that had been revealed to me: the pic of the DU Admins, and the pic of Jerome A. Papa, living high on the hog from the suckers who give money to him at DW, without once doing simple due diligence into who he really is.

April 25: Jerome A. Papa and FuzzySlippers - aided and abetted by complict or gullible DWers - made light of this, and continued to spin the whole matter.

April 25: At 9:50 a.m. ET, I received an e-mail that read: "Saw the newish post on your blog- there's a dead link, though (going to CG's photobucket account- he put a password on it)." That was predictable, and why I saved it down right after posting about it at midnight.

April 25: At 10:13 a.m. ET, I posted a notice to those reading my blog that the brainstorm board had new features up, and asking for additional help in pivoting to things that actually matter a lot more than Jerome A. Papa. The press release in question pertains to the Clinton campaign's concealment of the Clinton Foundation donor lists.

April 25: At 4:18 p.m. ET, I received an e-mail from a friend: "DOOOOD!!!! That's some weird collection...

But he took the password off- If you click the link now, it goes to his page with a different collection of bizarre pics (or maybe just some not in the list you sent)..."

April 25: At 8:45 p.m. ET, I saved down the new set. These are truly bizarre. Pictures of white power logos, anti-gay pictures, Nazi porn, Hillary as a Nazi, and on and on and on. One begins to think that whoever controls that PhotoBucket account is a clinically disturbed person. The Federal Rules of Civil Procedure permit - under limited circumstances - for the court to order a psychiatric evaluation of a Defendant. Indeed, many defense lawyers will ask for that for their client, to help mount a defense based on state of mind. When that happens, many Plaintiffs agree to a sealed settlement, which includes a treatment plan for the Defendant.

April 26: As of today, the PhotoBucket account shows up as empty. I'm sure that my IP address was being monitored to see when I hit it, and then it was taken down.

I hope that a few DWers will at least begin to ask some serious questions of Jerome A. Papa, including where the PayPal link funnels to, and whether he has a separate legal entity set up for DW or not. As for my part, the more I learn about this individual and his efforts to disrupt the Kerry campaign in 2004, and the more I learn about his antics this election cycle, the more I'm convinced that he is no progressive at all, rational, thinking, or otherwise.

Press Release and Calendar Up!

Members of The Stranger's Room, please look at the press release - going out right now to Indiana journalists.

Also, the Calendar function is enabled, and a master Oppo Research / Campaign schedule is being built out. This function will flow over to the full-scale board once it goes Beta.

- Dave

Ah, scamming liberals is such a good life!

Which Admin looks like he's scamming his users to live high on the hog?

Jerome A. Papa, Admin of DemocraticWarrior?

Or David B. Allen, Admin of DemocraticUnderground?

Sometimes, you just really don't want to know...

... who sent the information. But, apparently, Jerome A. Papa opposed John Kerry in 2004.

To those who have reached out to educate me about Jerome A. Papa's prior money scams and flim flam efforts: a sincere thank you.

But the link to CG/BJ's PhotoBucket pix (sent to me anonymously) is truly frightening.

I wish I could unsee that. I wish I could wash my mind's eye. Porn shots of Ann Coulter? Denigrating photos of John Kerry? Truly deranged!

Thursday, April 24, 2008

Thank you to those who have given sound counsel, advice, and/or posted comments below...

... and please continue to send those forward, as I really do listen and take counsel.

But in order to get the new, full-scale message board into Beta testing mode, please spend some time at The Stranger's Room, brainstorming with other progressives who yearn for a superior board, which sets a whole new standard for progressive fun and hard work.

As soon as we get a couple of key issues squared away (e.g., the preferred back end for the full-scale board), it will go Beta.

During this initial brainstorming phase, however, The Stranger's Room serves as a place where we can hash out superior systemic controls, to demonstrate a little foresight, and - with a little luck and thinking - avoid some of the more common message board problems.

Please don't lurk. Please don't be shy. Come join up and brainstorm, to help shape the vision for the full-scale board!

A Profile in Leadership: A Young George C. Marshall (Compulsion for Speaking Truth to Power)

One of my absolute favorite Americans is George C. Marshall.

This is a man who has been described as follows:

In the years before World War I, he discovered that he was a natural teacher. He undertook many assignments as an instructor or a counselor to National Guard units in the Midwest and northeast. From the earliest days of his career he seemed to understand that future American wars would be prosecuted and won mainly by people who were not professional soldiers, but ordinary American citizens. They had to be made competent soldiers who simply understood what they had to do and were unafraid to do it. By the end of World War I, more than two million were in uniform. Only fifteen years before, the total enrollment in the American army had been twenty-eight thousand.

By now Marshall had made a reputation as a brilliant staff officer capable of great prodigies of training and logistics, and something else--man with an uninhibited compulsion, as the Quakers say, to speak truth to power. In World War II, he would regularly challenge President Roosevelt, always respectfully, always loyally, of course, but always forthrightly and boldly. Once during World War I, as a young major, he was outraged at General Pershing's criticism of his divisional commander, and spoke up, "in front of a horrified audience of staff officers," even laying a hand on Pershing's forearm as the general turned to leave.

His potentially career-ending public upbraiding of Black Jack Pershing in World War I is legendary. Black Jack Pershing, rather than busting him down and putting him on KP duty, brought him on as his aide.

His potentially career-ending public disagreements with FDR before and during World War II are also legendary. FDR found him so indispensable for his forthright honesty, however, that he refused to let Marshall go to Europe to oversee the war effort there. Marshall's trusted mentee, Dwight David Eisenhower, was sent instead.

The record soon showed that predictions of an early end to Marshall's career were widely premature. In the spring of 1939 Roosevelt began the search for a replacement for Army chief of staff General Malin Craig who was due to retire on 1 September. In April FDR decided for Marshall. Without informing anyone else, Roosevelt summoned Marshall to the White House to give him the news. "General Marshall," he said, "I have it in mind to choose you as the next Chief of Staff of the United States Army. What do you think of that?"

"Nothing, Mr. President," Marshall replied, "except to remind you that I have the habit of saying exactly what I think. And that, as you know," he added, "can often be unpleasing. Is that all right?"

Marshall recalls that Roosevelt grinned and said, "Yes." Marshall remained persistent. "Mr. President, you said yes pleasantly. But I have to remind you again that it may be unpleasant." The President continued to grin. "I know," he said. But he did not add "George."

At the outset of their relationship as commander-in-chief and chief of staff, the two men had staked out an area of understanding marked by candor. Marshall had not connived for the position (though he had coveted it) and he had neither covered up any of his views nor professed opinions that were not genuine. And to his credit, FDR had not invited any such behavior. The job of chief of staff came to Marshall without strings, with his integrity intact, and he was therefore positioned to provide his commander-in-chief candid advice insulated and independent from the wizardry of FDR's beguiling personality.

I don't mind saluting someone else who takes the lead.

But don't deceive me.

When I lead, I try to emulate George C. Marshall. If you're not on par with Black Jack Pershing or FDR, though, and if your ego cannot take candor with the salute, I'm probably not well-suited for your enterprise.

- Dave

Blessed are the peacemakers!

Thank you, Maat! Well said!

It takes two to have a dialogue, however.

Branding my efforts to communicate directly with him as harrassment - rather than admitting that he cowered in fear from the first email - isn't helping.

Deleting those threads would be a great first step.

Crazy Guggenheim - Proud to Be a Merkin (Definitely Not a Merlin)

BigJerr / Crazy Guggenheim / Jerome A. Papa of San Rafael, California, is pretending to be amused by the revelation that Crazy Guggenheim is BJ's merkin. In fact, his fiance and he are gloating about it.

Unfortunately, BigJerr's "friends" at DW aren't tapping him on the shoulder, and saying, "Um, dude, WTF?!?"

Apparently, BigJerr / Crazy Guggenheim / Jerome A. Papa of San Rafael, California is PROUD of the revelations that:

1. BJ and CG are the same person.

2. BJ, owner/operator of a competitor to DU, has made admissions of facts in his public posts at DW that DU's lawyers can now use. Jerome's fiance, FuzzySlippers, has also made admissions of her activities on DU.

3. BJ apparently has not filed paperwork to make DemocraticWarrior a separate legal entity. This would seem to indicate that there is no corporate veil to pierce, and that there is no separate liability for BJ, CG, and DW.

4. BJ has jingled his coin cup to unsuspecting DUers, so that his numerous sockpuppets at DU can have donor stars. BJ apparently considers "Oppo Research" to be comprised of raiding another board for ideas.

5. BJ uses his trained sockpuppet, CG, to jingle his coin cup to unsuspecting new DWers. Anyone who gives him money without his coming clean is, indeed, deserving of the label Neophyte.

All this begs the questions posed here.

But is BigJerr answering those questions? Is he providing contact info that his user community can use to do their due diligence? Is he explaining why the only way to give to his site is thru a PayPal account?

No, he's doing a bad mimic of Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton's spin room. Note how he is dancing around the question, blaming the sources, trying to castigate the sources, and trying to Officer Barbrady it up: "Nothing to see here. It's only a picture. Pay no attention to the facts about how I've deceived my user community, and defrauded DUers out of donor stars for my sockpuppet theater at DU."

Here's the recap:

The PRE-nial: Sunday, DW, Revelations - Exposing Possible Neo-Con Infiltration of Liberal Forums

About some "revelations" that may occur this week on another site. Let me just say that some find love on the internet and some people don't. Some people are happy in their relationships and some people after years of marriage and have children are still so empty, very gullible and find people who will lead them no where. Some people know who their friends really are, and say good things in front of them and - most importantly - when their back is turned . Some friends would never betray their trust and some people trust a sycophant and wonder why they just got stabbed in the back.

But the worst is what was said in the second instance above. I wonder what would happen if the whole internet, with its infinite reach, would say about that?

My thoughts for the day.

This was Jerome being a total jackass. Scared that his merkin was about to be exposed, Jerome fired a shot across the bow, saying, basically: I will out REDACTED's personal matters, if I'm unmasked as a cybercoward, a liar, and a thief.

Direct Threat to REDACTED: Yesterday, Same Forum

I will be posting on the revelation issue sometime today! I will name names! REDACTED, your "friends" told me!

No one should ever mess with anyone at this forum!
You better know who your friends are!
Don't have anything in your closet!
Don't be so fragile!

That was Jerome being a frightened little ass. Rattling that funny little magic wand of his, he threatened to retaliate if he was unmasked as a cybercoward, a liar, and a thief.

(Merlin? Hell no. Merkin!)

Psychotic Laughter: Late Yesterday, Same Forum

I'm doomed!! CGA put the photo of Fleabert, REDACTED and myself on his blog!!

http://corpgovactivist.blogspot.com

Apparently, Jerome thinks it's funny that he's deceived so many DWers and DUers. He must be related to Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton. They both seem to be genetically hardwired for that.

The Dumbass Strikes Back: Wee Hours, Today, Same Forum

Listings of the emails CGA/IdesofOctober is sending me! He is as nutty as fruit cake!!

snip

I will post all the other emails he - CGA/Ides - has been flooding me with on a daily basis! They are the same person!

Listing of the responses the scared little MerkinMan has sent back to me?

Zilch. There have been none.

Now, that's especially ironic, given that BigJerr claimed - falsely, as it turns out - that had Skinner merely contacted him to talk things over, he (BigJerr / CG / Jerome A Papa of San Rafael, CA) would have responded.

Apparently, he lies about that, too.

Apparently, thinking like one of the Clintons' dumber step-cousins, Jerome thinks this tactic will divert thinkers from the issues of how he has deceived users at DU and DW.

The Straw That Broke the Camel's Back for Me: Today, Wee Hours, Same Forum

BigJerr Writes: REDACTED's Cyber-affair.

I'll be posting the whole story on this later as I need to write out everything. However, in essence, she had a cyber affair going on with a DU member. Evidently in 2006 (?) she put the wrong Christmas card expressing her love for him into an envelope which was sent to one of her daughters! Her husband later found out about it. There were phone calls to him. She has been in, and continues, psychotherapy because she cannot break away from her "cyber-love". Anyways, I will not mention the other person's name with whom she had this affair.

Redacted, sorry it's come to this but it seems that your friends aren't what you think. Go home and fix your marriage and cut out the phony crap. Nobody buys it any more.

The U.S. District Court in Alexandria has jurisdiction to issue temporary injunctions that have full force and effect in San Rafael, California.

I'm writing the motion up now, and BigJerr can bear the expense of coming here to defend.
